El Gobierno de la Provincia, a través de la Secretaría de Bosques a cargo de Rodrigo Roveta, inició el pasado fin de semana con las acciones de restauración previstas para este año junto a la organización no gubernamental Reforestarg.
Con la colaboración de 50 voluntarios convocados por la ONG, se plantaron alrededor de 3 mil plantines de especies nativas en un sector quemado de más de 10 hectáreas ubicado en la reserva Área Natural Protegida Nacientes del Río Tigre, próxima a Cholila.
Dicha actividad estuvo enmarcada en el Programa de Restauración del Bosque Nativo que la cartera de Bosques del Chubut lleva adelante para recuperar áreas afectadas por grandes incendios forestales.
Se trata de zonas estratégicas por los servicios ambientales que ofrecen: moderación del clima, regulación de la calidad y de la cantidad de agua de las cuencas hidrográficas, suministro de oxígeno, fijación de dióxido de carbono, protección del suelo y conservación de la biodiversidad.
Este año, la Secretaría de Bosques planea reforestar más de 40 mil plantas en distintos sectores degradados en la región distribuidos en Río Turbio, El Hoyo, El Maitén, Cholila, Corcovado, Las Pampas y Río Senguer, principalmente sobre tierras provinciales o municipales. Para ello va a contar con el apoyo de numerosas organizaciones.
